“Highfield Preschool is truly a hidden gem and outstanding Preschool. There is just a feeling when you walk into the Preschool which is difficult to put into words that you know it is a very special place. Mrs Case, the Manager, together with her teachers and teaching assistants provide such a warm, nurturing environment to foster a love of learning with Christian moral and ethical values. They go above and beyond on a daily basis to help every child’s early learning development, wellbeing and growth in their formative years. There is a great balance of learning and having fun with a strong emphasis on the importance of outside play in the large garden and wider Highfield Oval surroundings and exercise in the form of weekly PE classes. The curriculum is creative with focussed termly topics taught by way of weekly sub-topics which are emailed to parents prior to the start of each week. Families are encouraged to support topic learning at home and to get involved as much as possible. Testament to this is the large number of grandparents that come in to the Preschool to read with and to the children and a strong PTA with many parents volunteering on a weekly basis to support the Preschool with its daily routine or to share their skills and experiences at specific sessions ranging from around the world cuisine tasting classes to teaching African drumming and lessons in French. Absolute highlights for our daughters who have adored their time at the Preschool are the whole Preschool singing sessions the children have with live piano accompaniment at the start of each day and the twice yearly productions that all children actively participate in and thoroughly enjoy. As a parent, I cannot speak highly enough of the Preschool and its members of staff and the unforgettable start it has provided our daughters to formal education.”
